Five Ways Singles Can Pamper Them Selves on Valentine's Day
You may have just broken up with your partner for a variety of reasons. You may have been single for a long time. Either way, sometimes you may feel kind of lonely on this day. If this is the case, there are five ways you can pamper your self on this special day.
The following are five Valentine's Ideas for the single person:
(You decide which ones would be appropriate for your gender.)
1. You can go on a shopping spree. It's not that you want loneliness to be an excuse to push your budget. However, once in awhile it is nice to be able to buy something nice for yourself if you can.
2. Treat your self to a night out. You can either do this by yourself or you can take a friend with you. Hit the clubs dance the night away, and make supposedly happy couples jealous everywhere.
3. Go to a beauty salon or a spa. You will feel much better about your self after you have had your hair done or your nails manicured. You might even receive a massage from a non-to-bad looking fellow.
4. Get a good work out in at the gym. You would be surprised who you would meet there after all.
5. Go to a neighborhood single's gathering. It is not desperation, just the chance to take part in sensible celebrations, versus perhaps going to the bar if you are not into the club scene.
Other options may include making friends online through dating services, or just sitting home with your favorite movie. You may also just want to revel in all the ways being single is so much better than being with someone (at least for now).
The Five Top Relationship Issues Affecting Valentine's Celebrations
Valentine's Day is a holiday all couples and families want to celebrate. Single people celebrate it as well.
However, many issues affect relationships, or the lack of being able to sustain a relationship. Five of the most common hindrances to enjoying Valentine's Day fully include the following:
1. Low Self-Esteem: This includes the inability to love, and the inability to receive love. Many people do not feel they "deserve" to be loved. They may also feel like it is impossible for anyone to love them. Low Self-Esteem could also include feeling unattractive.
2. Personal Troubles: Perhaps a person is low on finances this Valentine's Day. That can severely affect a person's attitude. A person can feel pretty low and depressed when they don't have much money and they can take it out on other people. They also may feel helpless, and unable to take care of them selves.
3. Personal Differences: Often couples do not want the same thing. For instance, one person may want to have kids and the other doesn't. Either that or perhaps one person wants to get married and the other doesn't.
4. Relationship Conflict: Many times persons in a romantic relationship are in a disagreement. This can cause couples to perhaps not look forward to celebrating Valentine's Day.
5. Circumstances: It could be that something happened such as an accident or death in a family. This can often put a damper on romance around Valentine's Day. Missing a loved one who has died also affects a partner, or even missing a past partner who is still alive.

How to Make Yourself Feel Better if Your Partner Doesn't Want You
You may feel put down by your partner for any number of reasons. Maybe they are always picking at the imperfections in your physical traits or they are always comparing you to others of your sex.
One way to feel better about yourself when this happens is make sure you take notice wherever you go. Take advantage of times you meet new people, and then let your partner know he or she is not the only one out there.
Let them know that you are not obligated to put up with their mistreatment or neglect of you. Also, let them know that if they do not appreciate you there could be someone else who will.
Also, stand up for yourself. Tell your self and tell your partner all the ways you are good enough, smart enough, and capable enough. Furthermore, if you continue to feel put down and abused by your partner you may want to re-evaluate the relationship.
Is the relationship continuing because either of you feel obligated to stay in it? Do you stay in it out of fear of being alone? Does your partner really love you are is he or she only around for the sex?
There is much to be evaluated in relationships, and in deciding whether or not they should continue. If it is totally clear that your partner is not just having a bad day and just continues to be with you even though he or she has nothing good to say about you, this is a sign to get out. And to get out fast.
How to Choose a Gift that Compliments your Partner
Choosing the right gift for your partner can sometimes make or break your Valentine's Day celebration. Sure, most partners will be polite and accept whatever give you give them.
However, if you want them to be absolutely ecstatic about the gift-whether it is a man or a woman-you may want to keep in mind the following:
Valentine's Day is meant to be a day of celebration of the good points of your partner and the relationship you are in. Even if your relationship is going through a rough patch try to think of at least one or a few good things about your partner. If you do this, it will help you focus on the positive and know what to buy him or her.
Usually gifts centered on the person's hobbies, career goals, or personal interests fare very well. For instance, the man may receive new tools he needs for his model-building hobby, or the woman may want to receive media software so she can make her digital slide shows.
This is usually not a good day to focus on what you feel is wrong about your partner. For instance, if you have been complaining about any aspect of your partner's physical appearance he or she will not really appreciate any gifts that pertain to this aspect.
This is particularly true of couples who are contemplating giving their partners a membership to a gym. This idea would need to be used very sparingly and only if you know it is what your partner would most appreciate.
Paying for trips to a beauty salon, massage parlor or a spa can be great gifts. However, be sure that your partner realizes it is for his or her enjoyment and not because you find fault with that person. Also, it should not be with the intention of trying to change that person, especially if your partner is happy with who he or she is at this time.
When deciding what to buy for your partner, try to be in tune with that person's likes or dislikes. This should be easier if you have known the person for awhile. If you are not sure, perhaps you can think back to times when he or she has said "I wish I had a..." or "I sure would like to get..." or "I am thinking about buying...".
If they have not already bought the item you remember them "wishing" for that may be a great opportunity for you to present a very pleasant surprise to your significant other.
In addition to the above, the most important aspect of Valentine's gift giving is this: the gift you purchase your partner should primarily benefit that person and not you. Remember, the gift is for your partner, and not you.
